 AFP ND Northern Plains Chapter Wins Awards,
Growing Strong Despite Economic Challenges

(Arlington, VA)  The North Dakota, Northern Plains Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professional (AFP) has been honored for its continued growth over the past several years despite economic challenges that are affecting associations across the country.

The chapter, based in Fargo and representing fundraisers around the state, won first place in its size category (51-100 members) for highest three-year retention rate of 85 percent retention of existing members.  The chapter was recognized for this achievement at AFP's recent International Conference on Fundraising in New Orleans, the largest gathering of fundraising professionals in the world, and received a $1,000 prize.

"AFP exists to advance ethical and effective fundraising and wise giving, and much of that work goes on at the local level," said Paulette V. Maehara, CFRE, CAE, president and CEO of AFP.  "The AFP ND Northern Plains Chapter is a shining example of how strong leadership and innovative ideas can propel associations forward even in challenging economic times.  I congratulate the chapter, and fundraisers who are lucky to be able to take advantage of such a great and well-run organization."
